Join us for our stories, songs, and movement as we bring storytime outdoors this summer! 

All of our storytimes will be held in Academy Field and are weather dependent.  In the event of inclement weather a cancellation notice will be posted by 9:30 AM that morning.  No registration required.

Kids Book Club

Join us for discussion and fun activities in our Kids Book Club!  This summer we will be reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown.

Family Flower Pressing

All Ages

Create some crafts with pressed flowers and learn some tricks for pressing your own.  This event is a great complement to our nature journal kits and is wonderful for the whole family.

Held in Academy Field behind the Swift Community Center - weather permitting.

Construction Zone: Beavers at Work

Ages 4 - 12

Beavers are often secretly at work somewhere nearby building their own habitat and building habitats for many other animals in the process.  Come learn about nature's amazing engineers, learn about animals that share their habitat and build your own beaver dam to test!  This event is presented by the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center.

Reading the Map

 

Wednesday, August 3

4:00 PM

Ages 7 - 12

When out on the trail you can't always depend on your phone!  Learn how to read trail signs, use a paper map and compass with instructors from the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center.  Kids will have a chance to design a map of our location, use a compass, and discuss hiking preparedness.

Encanto Party

Come hear stories, sing songs, and dance with some of your favorite Encanto characters!
